Innovative cellular-over-LAN architecture re-uses your existing LAN cabling plant
(Cat 5e/6) to offer a simple, cost-effective cellular coverage and capacity
enhancement to your LAN, in half the time as conventional solutions with minimal
workplace disruption. Cabling re-use also ensures less disruption and complexity
associated with new cabling projects and this approach significantly reduces time
to deployment for both 4G overlay deployments and other types of installations.
MobileAccessVE delivers cellular services using intermediate frequencies (IF) of a
different frequency than the Ethernet LAN traffic, therefore cellular network elements
do not steal LAN capacity and if one network is down, it does not affect the other.
MobileAccessVE network elements are transparent to the IT LAN because
MobileAccessVE delivers licensed RF using intermediate frequencies (IF) of a different
frequency than the Ethernet LAN traffic (0 to 100 MHz), sharing only the physical
cabling and enabling separate PoE pass-through for any IP application.
MobileAccessVE is the first and only DAS to be validated with the Cisco Unified
Wireless Network.
The MobileAccessVE in-building cellular platform offers 14 dBm composite power
output (10 dBm CELL) for single and dual-band RF service mixes including: CELL/PCS
(full-band, with and without amplifier sharing options), 700 MHz LTE MIMO and AWS
MIMO, with MIMO delivery over one, existing Cat 5e/6/7 LAN cable through the use of
IF frequencies.

The VCU interfaces with the service provider's RF capacity source (ex. BTS, BDA,
Picocell, Femtocell) and VE Access Pods via Cat 5e/6 cabling. MobileAccessVE Control
Units interface with operators' RF capacity sources and VE Access Pods. The VE
Control Unit downbands RF services to intermediate frequencies (IF bands) and
allows the LAN signal and LAN-based PoE to passively pass-through from the IT patch
panel through the Cat 5e/6 LAN cabling together, to VE Access Pods (antennas on
ceilings). The VE Control Unit provides separate PoE and management for Pods. VE
Pods transmit and receive RF services, and allow LAN signals to pass through to any
IP appliances such as WLAN Access Points attached to VE Pods.
