Freescale MQX Release Notes
22 Freescale Semiconductor
4.3 In USB Support
4.3.1 OTG Support
The USB OTG Drivers are not included in the current release of Freescale MQX™ RTOS.
4.3.2 CDC Class Support
The standard CDC communications class is not supported by either host or device stacks. The
device-side implementation is currently under development.
4.4 Peripheral Drivers
Not all peripheral modules available on-chip are supported by an MQX I/O driver.
4.4.1 Cryptographic Acceleration Unit
No legacy driver is available in MQX. This module is not suitable for general purpose device driver.
Module features will be used internally by future kernel versions.
4.4.2 Random Number Generator
No legacy driver is available in MQX.
A simple generic I/O driver for this module will be used as an example in Application Note
document, demonstrating how to create device driver step-by-step. This driver will be part of future
MQX releases.
4.4.3 Flash Module
Driver for writing to external flash module was available in the original MQX RTOS. This driver was
removed from the Freescale MQX™ RTOS release until the support for internal processor Flash
memory will be implemented.
4.4.4 Various Timer Modules
No legacy driver is available in MQX. This driver is a subject of future development.
4.4.5 I2C and QSPI Communication (Slave Mode)
The I2C and SPI drivers now support Master Mode only. PCB-based drivers were available in the
older MQX versions and supported also slave modes. Porting these drivers is a subject of future
development.
4.4.6 PWM Module
No legacy driver is available in MQX. This driver is a subject of future development.
4.5 PC Host Tools
PC Host tools known from previous MQX releases (Design tool, EDS client tool, Performance tool)
are not included in the current release of Freescale MQX™ RTOS.
